Purpose: The Explorer Post works in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America and this union assists in strengthening ties between teens and police officers. Through an observation program the explorers have the opportunity to work side by side with members of the Sheriff's Office in different divisions including Patrol, Detentions, Dispatch, Investigations and more. They learn first hand what the duties of each area are and get an overall view of the criminal justice system. (you must be at least 15 years of age/or have completed the 8th grade)
