Grants
Grant writing is an important part of any fundraising program. And obtaining grant money is becoming a more and more competitive. Foundations are required by law to spend 5 percent of their assets each year on grants and related expenses. As the result, over 60,000 private foundations in the United States give away as much as $30 billion annually.
The grant writer should craft a proposal which outlines how the money will be used, provides information as to what receiving the money will accomplish, and indicates who will undertake the tasks described in the proposal. The grant proposal should be written in clear, concise sentences that convey a passion for the project, as well as detailed information, technical facts, concepts or procedures.
