The Highlands Ranch Library is located within the Highlands Ranch Town Center, this community’s central retail and service hub. The library features a large, beautifully-decorated children’s room with an extensive collection for both kids and parents. Highlands Ranch Library also houses Douglas County Libraries’ most in-depth business collection, with expert onsite reference service. Public meeting rooms include two large rooms on the first floor and four small study rooms on the second floor. There is also a well-appointed quiet reading room with beautiful mountain views.

Pokemon League
Where: Highlands Ranch at Shea A
This group meets and plays on the first and third Wednesday of every month. No registration necessary. The final league meeting will be held December 17, 2008. There will be no library-sponsored Pokemon League in 2009.
Rockin' Readers Book Group
Where: Highlands Ranch at Shea A
3rd and 4th graders book group runs September through May. Additional information is available in the Children's Reference Department at Highlands Ranch Library. Registration must go through Highlands Ranch Children's Library Staff.
Book Club for 1st-2nd Gr. - Session 2
Where: Highlands Ranch at Shea B
Join us for this 7 week session book club and read fun chapter books. Each child who is in 1st or 2nd grade can register for one 7-week session per year. All sessions contain the same books and materials covered in session one. Registration for the 7 week session is required. This session ends Dec. 18th. Children should attend all 7 weeks.
Great Books Discussion Group
Where: Highlands Ranch at Kuni Lexus Study Room
All adults are welcome to join this new evening book group. Lively discussions and GREAT Books. Meetings are the first and third Thursday of every month.
"Practice Your English"

An opportunity to practice your English as a second language skills. Just drop in upstairs at the Highlands Ranch Library in the Saunders Study Room. No registration necessary.
Go - Game Club
Where: Highlands Ranch at Shea B
Go is a game that originated in China about 4,000 years ago. It is said to be more challenging than chess or bridgeyet, people of all ages can learn the basics in 30 minutes. It is played by two players alternately placing black and white stones on the vacant intersections of a grid board. The object of the game is to control a larger part of the board than the opponent. If you want to play or learn, an instructor is available to help you.

Creative Writing Group 1st &2nd Gr. Session 2

Get your creative juices flowing! Join the this seven-week creative writing session. Each 1st or 2nd grader can attend one seven-week session. Registration is required. There is no waiting list for any session. Class Is FULL - please register for the third session when registration opens.

Teen Book Club

Teens in 9th - 12th grade are welcome to come and participate in this fun book club which will cover fiction, fantasy, manga, sci-fi and more! Registration is required. The first meeting is September 22nd.
Bookbusters Book Club
Where: Highlands Ranch at Shea A
Dont strain your brain, read a book! This book club is for 5th through 8th grades. Registration is required and was filled. This book club runs August through May, 2009, Tuesdays at 4:15pm
HI Chess Knights Chess Club
Where: Highlands Ranch at Shea A
Group meets twice monthly to enjoy the game of Chess. Frank Atwood leads the group. Adults, children, and teens who play chess are welcome to come and participate. No registration necessary. This week they will meet on Tuesday because of the upcoming holiday.
